Add a 2nd Drive to your Synology NAS for SHR Data Protection + Redundancy

My Synology DS918+ only had one drive. As a result, there was no data protection. If the one drive failed, I could potentially lose a lot of data. As I’m now depending on this NAS, it was apparent that Data Protection was becoming a necessity. Therefore, a 2nd 12TB drive was added. This video will explain how to add a 2nd drive for Data Protection to your NAS.

Keep in mind RAID is not a backup, it is for redundancy/data protection. There are other options for local/offsite backups which we may explore in future videos.
